Friday March 22: Troy Lum : The Man Behind the Hopscotch Brand
Troy Lum was listed as one of the Top 50 Executives in the World by The Hollywood Reporter and
that’s largely due to having acquired and released more than 150 films in Australia and New
Zealand with formidable box office results. Notable titles include Fahrenheit
9/11, Somersault, Downfall, Mrs Henderson Presents, The Lives Of Others, The Wrestler, Vicky
Cristina Barcelona, Mao’s Last Dancer, Bright Star, The Kids Are All Right, Midnight in
Paris and The Sapphires.
As the managing director and co-owner of Australia’s leading distribution company, Hopscotch,
Troy is the main man behind the brand. In 2010, he set up Hopscotch Features: a one stop shop
for film finance, development and production, to work with emerging and established filmmaking
talent from concept to completion.
