Friday Nov 9: The Multi-talented Nadia Tass
Director, Nadia Tass (Malcolm, The Big Steal, Mr Reliable, Amy, Matching Jack) started her career with one of
the most treasured films in Australian cinema history – Malcolm – and she has since become one of our most
prolific and successful practitioners with a career spanning film, television and theatre. Nadia’s projects have
received countless awards and generated over 32 million dollars in box office. She has delivered master classes
from New York, London to Singapore and the American Cinematheque has just honoured her with a touring
retrospective of her work which is hardly surprising given that Nadia has been one of the few Australian directors
to have worked with just about every studio in the States.
Nadia will share insights into her craft, discuss her experience in the States and show exclusive footage from her
recently completed feature Death In Paradise a psychological thriller starring Harvey Keitel.
The Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) serves up fresh, free and topical mind food for screen
arts and broadcast practitioners and enthusiasts alike every week at ACMI. Hosted by Sandra Sdraulig, former
CEO of Film Victoria and Director of the Melbourne International Film Festival, Friday on My Mind is FREE and
open to all.
Come along and enjoy the informed and film literate host as she discusses creative practice with a range of
interesting guest practitioners each and every Friday throughout the year. The latest details on guests appear in
AFTRS’ weekly Victorian Red-Alert e-bulletin, which you can sign up to receive it via the AFTRS’ website:
